    First Searun without a guide

    in Fishing Reports

I went down to Possesion State Park this morning about 30 minutes after high tide and after 20 minutes of fishing I landed an 18" searun. I would have pictures but my phone was in a plastic bag to keep it out of the salt and the camera would not cooperate. I was fishing the little white fly that Clarence showed at the last meeting. I also LDR'd another fish. Saw 3 fishing jumping while I was there I keep hitting the same beach so I can study the tides and such. This beach fishing is new to me but lots of fun and great scenery.

Good going , Bob. That was a really nice fish and it sounds like it will only get better with all the Chum fry in the Sound now. Wish I could get there more often. How was the Whale aroma and parts? We did some slicing on it last weekend.

It's the Dahlia Shrimp pattern. You'll pick up and salmon here and there as well.

Great report, Bob. I've fished the beaches of south Puget Sound for years, but I've been slow to explore Whidbey. Even with the Whidbey fishing map on our website I've felt a bit intimidated. Your report gives me a specific location to try, so I'll make an extra effort to get out.
