Some People will do Almost Anything!

    in Fishing Reports

To launch, or not to launch? That is the question.

Yes, it's been cold. And, yes, I did see some ice on Pass Lake as I drove by earlier. But, now that I'm up here and my meetings are behind me, shouldn't I go out on the water for at least a short time? Oh, the way we fly fishers rationalize. And it might have been fine if it was liquid water that I was going out on. As it turned out, those patches of open water were far smaller than they had looked the day before, and playing ice breaker with my Stealth Pro wasn't as effective as I'd hoped in the 3/8-inch thick ice I was faced with. On the other hand, I did get my morning workout by the time I got to a spot to drop a line. You won't be surprised to hear that the workout is all I got last Thursday morning. Oh, well. You never know until you try.
