After reading of Clayton's good luck at Ala Spit last week, I fished the incoming tide there for the last two days with absolutely no luck: no fish caught; no fish seen. Maybe it was the bright sun and the fact that the tide was right only at mid-morning: far from the ideal overcast or other low-light condition. That's fishing for you.
Taking advantage of the unusual amount of fishing time I had available to me, I also fished Fort Casey on the tail end of an outgoing tide Tuesday evening. While I had no luck, at least I saw one fish landed by a gear angler. Maybe the west side of the Island is the place to concentrate over the long weekend. Fingers crossed. Hope to see others of you out there.
Fished Ft. Casey yesterday for total of 7 hours. Never got a strike. Not many coho coming thru. Saw 2 caught.
