The Whidbey Island Fly Fishing Club, founded in 1992, is a social organization of fly fishers, dedicated to providing our members with the resources they need to enjoy the sport of fly fishing, and to working to protect our environment and educate the public on the importance of conservation of our resources.

Coming Up

  • A beginners' fly tying session will be held on Wednesday, January 22, at the Race Road fire station (1164 Race Road, Coupeville).  Tools and basic techniques will be introduced.  Snacks, drinks, and all necessary tools will be provided.  RSVP to Gianna (text: 360-466-8283; email gianna@holle.com) by January 19 to insure enough tools and materials are available for everyone.  Check the calendar on the Events page of the website for full details.
     

  • The February Executive Board meeting is scheduled for February 5th, from 10 to noon, at the Day Road fire station in Greenbank.  All members are welcome.
     

  • The 2020 Fly Fishing Film Tour comes to the Lincoln Theater in Mt. Vernon on February 6 at 7PM.  For information and a link to purchasing tickets visit https://lincolntheatre.org/film/fly-fishing-film-tour-2020.
     

  • The February 12th club meeting will be at the Race Road fire station with socializing starting at 6:30 PM and the meeting from 7 - 9 PM.  Check the calendar on the Events page of the website for full details.
     

  • The 2020 Fly Fishing Show comes to the Lynnwood Convention Center February 15 and 16.  For information visit https://flyfishingshow.com/lynnwood-wa/
     

  • An Introduction to Fly Fishing will be presented at the Coupeville Public Library on March 2nd from 1:30 to 3:00 PM.  Club member, Bob Stephens, will lead you through a 90-minute tour of the basics of fly fishing.  If weather permits, this will be followed by 30 minutes of hands-on practice outside.  No registration is required.  Just show up at the library.
