"Who knew we had so many dedicated and determined fly fishers!?", said Mark Wilbert to the Universe.

A dozen hardy souls braved strong winds and stronger gusts to vie for the title of this year's champion of the annual Nyerges Nymph One-Fly Outing. It was a good turnout from both the club and members of the North Sound program of Project Healing Waters. There were experienced old-timers as well as several folks new to lake fishing. Gear and fishing tips were shared out, and, though the beginning was slow, with a lot of chit chat and coffee around the vehicles, it only took movement toward the water by one brave soul to get everyone else on the move.
In the end, only one fish was caught (a nice 18-incher), making Greg Mackey (far left in above photo) our champion. He was quite excited about his victory, especially when he learned that the honor came with the requirement that people believe his fish stories for a whole year.
A lot of calories were burned beating against the wind, so brats, beans, and salad went fast when lunch was served.

Special thanks to all those who brought gear to share with new fishers and helped them learn a bit about lake fishing.
