Let's definitely make it a regular New Year's Day thing!

The weather is looking good for the 1st: Mid- to upper-40s, light winds and the possibility of the sun poking out around noon. The water temp has been holding pretty steady in the low-40s and although I haven't been to the lake in a week, I don't expect to have deviated much from that. Let's meet up around 10am. Pass Lake continues to fish well with a double digit day yesterday during my 4-hours on the water. Interesting side note: I've noticed some odd Brown Trout behaviour this season (at least in my limited experience). All the Browns I've seen thus far have been pretty fat and fiesty and not skinny and snake=-like as usual this time of year. Perhaps a late spawn?!?! Then there was the brown in the 2nd picture below. It was super-bright, almost like a light titanium color vice a darker copper color like I'm used to... It acted like a Brown when I hooked it, but when it got closer to the surface, I thought it was a Rainbow...nope.

Thanks for posting this Mark. I caught this fish off the SE side of the lake in the deep water, about 10 yds from shore in about 10-12' of water. Slow strips with a brownish, orange bead head balanced leach.

Thanks Mark...and thanks for the boat advice too. I'm reading Tim Lockhart's "Stillwater Strategies" now and hoping that help my learning curve!
