    Lone Lake -- May 14

    in Fishing Reports

I spent a good part of the day fishing Lone Lake. People were catching fish--slowly in the morning and a little more often in the afternoon. Chironomids seemed more productive than leaches. I caught only one fish all day. I'm not a skilled chironomid user, so I tend to shy away from it. Still, my one fish was on a purple-bodied conehead. It just goes to show that blind luck still works. Those of you with more experience may do well. In the hour it took me to catch my one fish, the four boats around my must have landed eight or ten among them. I can rest comfortably tonight knowing that I still have some things to learn.

I assume you are being truthful, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you downplayed your success to make us average fishers feel better about life. Rest comfortably!

Mark, I spent 3+ hours at Pass Lake. Tried everything with no success. There were 4 others fishing and they did not do well either. Must be the fish are picky these days! Tight lines!
